This initiative forms part of the Council’s efforts to foster strategic partnerships and joint contributions aimed at supporting the visually impaired across the United Arab Emirates.

The event, held at the Ajman Youth Center, was attended by Mr. Ahmed Khalfan Al Shamsi, Director General of the Department of Community Development and Vocational Training, Mr. Adel Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Chairman of the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired, members of the Ajman Youth Council, and a number of individuals from the visually impaired community. The gathering provided a platform for dialogue and the exchange of scientific, academic, and professional experiences. Participants from the visually impaired community shared their personal journeys, highlighting the challenges they have faced and the milestones they have achieved in both education and career paths. They emphasized the vital role that government institutions, civil society organizations, and youth councils play in advocating for and empowering this important segment of society.

Mr. Humaid Salem Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Ajman Youth Council, stated that the initiative reflects the Council’s commitment to national directives that prioritize inclusion, empowerment, and the welfare of all community members. He added that supporting the visually impaired stems from a belief in their capabilities and a recognition of the need to provide them with opportunities for development, creativity, and participation across various domains.

He also underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with organizations such as the Emirates Association of the Visually Impaired – Sharjah, which play a leading role in supporting this segment. The initiative also aimed to reduce barriers and ensure that services are tailored to meet the diverse needs of visually impaired individuals in innovative and meaningful ways.
